Liberty as Foreign Policy: The Peace of Freedom
Liberty as foreign policy is the natural extension of the superior economic modeling inherent to Liberty. When set against an opponent laboring under the strained economic model of tyranny in their government, it is simply a matter of time before the opponent is forced to capitulate, provided the application of foreign policy adheres to a few strategic rules of common sense.
* The first is to force the opponent to survive within a level global trading environment. This requires a quid pro quo in floating currency valuations and maintenance, which, if necessary, is accomplished by equalizing tariffs in order to maintain fair market valuations in currency, which is a reflection of parity in investment, transportation, labor, and natural resources. It is an environment in which the tyrant cannot survive.
* Secondly, as market forces begin to restrict an opponent entrenched within a tyrannical government, it is the strength and promise of liberty that needs to be introduced and promoted to said opponents’ civilian population. It is a strategy of attacking the oppressor where he is weakest, on his home front and in his backyard…without firing a shot.
* Thirdly, in order to prevent an external retaliation of force against the foreign policy of Liberty, a strong military is required in order to dissuade the opponent from a reaction by force. Key to this tactic is to refrain from using the superior military force, because the instant it is used, the civilian Achilles heel of the tyrant becomes his strongest force, as that nations people rally ‘round the flag.
This makes the annual military expenditures in treasure and lives greatly reduced, a policy at odds with the financial interests of a tyrannical state, but which conforms to the tenets of Liberty in the restraint of government and spending.
The key is a conundrum summarized by Eisenhower’s Secretary of State, John Foster Dulles, as, “the ability to get to the verge without getting into war, is the necessary art.”
It is a simple strategy also described by Teddy Roosevelt’s,“Talk softly, but carry a big stick.” Another version is the far-reaching admonishment of George Washington, in his laborious syntax of the late 18th Century, urging America to “avoid all foreign entanglements.”
What Washington did not understand was that a nation based in Liberty will always remain under attack by the conflicting interests of tyrannical states that oppose Liberty. In every sense, Liberty is the tyrants greatest threat. Therefore, the surest defense of Liberty is to carry Liberty into the enclave of the tyrant until he succumbs to his people’s demand for Liberty, and they install their own constitutional Liberty.
This is the only means by which Liberty can survive. It must either crush tyranny, or be crushed. This is why there is no constitutional Liberty in the world today, as it is a proactive war America lost long ago.
NeoCons, America’s Current Foreign Policy & Cold War II
Under the banner of the neo-cons, America has played the belligerent, handing out 55-gallon barrels of whup-ass with impunity, draining our treasury and wasting American lives. A tyrannical state acts like a tyrannical state, and the wisdom of the ages is ignored as America has squandered its wealth fighting the Neo-Con inspired Cold War II.
Certainly, Sun Tzu’s, “Art of War” makes light that,
“Only one who knows the disastrous effects of a long war can realize the supreme importance of rapidity in bring it to a close.”
A ten-year war within the 24-year Cold War II like the one America has been conducting in the Middle East since 9/11 is a guaranteed losing proposition. Even if we win, we lose, because we have sacrificed both our money and Liberty to support a financial rat hole. Not to get crazy with Sun Tzu, but of equal or greater importance he notes that to,
“excel in war (or foreign policy, a nation,) first must cultivate their own humanity and justice and maintain their laws and institutions. By these means they make their governments invincible.”
America’s finances are a scandal while government and justice are unavailable save to the highest bidder. Morality is at its lowest ebb and our laws, heaped upon laws and regulations to assist the ruling class, makes each one more absurd than the last, fostering contempt until respect is lost for all laws.
The only people making out in America’s 10-year Neo-Con war are its financiers and suppliers, confirming General Smedley Butler’s contention, “War is a racket.”
War is a racket, and Cold War II has been endorsed by both Republicans and Democrats alike, both in Congress and the Presidency for the last 24 years with no end in sight. But the continuing grind of the attrition of Cold War II is wearing America down.
Making the Switch to a Liberty Based Foreign Policy
America must first be made invulnerable. The transition from America’s current Neo-Con foreign policy of endless Cold War II is contingent upon Liberty. And the first necessity of a foreign policy based upon Liberty is for America to practice what we preach. More than a simple matter of over coming hypocrisy, Liberty is the only means by which America can restore our humanity, morality, and justice by maintaining our laws and institutions at home, for home is the ultimate Achilles heel.
The Peace of Freedom
Launching Liberty: Cleaning Up Cold War II
Reagan won Cold War I by using the Peace of Freedom to force the Soviet Union to stretch an inferior economic system to its breaking point in order to compete militarily. America wasn’t as far gone as the Soviets, and it still took the Soviet Union years to get to the point where they could compete. By then they were so stretched they simply couldn’t keep pace with the Reagan military build-up and went bankrupt before we did.
Once America has resolved a few outstanding carry over issues of our current foreign policy, a mix of the Eisenhower/Reagan foreign policy of omnipotent forbearance is the primary rule.
America’s current competition isn’t nearly developed to this level, but they are getting there. Still, their economic models are all ready pretty stretched at this point. But you can say the same for America today.
However, can one even begin to account for the response is the World population to the popular uprising of all American’s against our government. Most of the world likes Americans; it’s our government they hate. They just understand our government better than we American’s do.
Can you imagine if America’s simply became aware of what our government really is? There would be a revolution overnight, and that revolution would run through the hearts and minds of every living thing by the very next night.
So while the sword or ‘big stick’ will always carry weight, our time has provided one of those incredible moments in eons when the word is everything. Once the realization of what government has been, fear is the only barrier that remains. And if America is leading the way and shining the light the world will follow; once because it wants to, again because it must.
Having established our greatest strength, America must address the two most important carry over issues of the Neo-Con Cold War II before we are able to move forward.
The first are the wars across the Middle East.
The second, is China’s declared currency war first launched against America on January 1, 1994, and only addressed occasionally by either the Congress or President, contingent upon the inconvenience of looming elections or other such bothersome event. It is then tossed into a forgotten corner, to fester against our nation.
Both issues must be addressed in a clear and tactful manner, again backed up by the same domestic action towards Liberty in the daily operating model of government in America.
The Middle East
“American foreign policy in the Middle East developed from the connections established by Christian American Missionaries while the European powers tried to plunder the region. It was the medical side of God’s work that opened the House of Saud to America..
Dominated by the same New England/NYC theocracy that was beginning to dominate America, it was but a half step for Ibn Saud to come to an agreement with Rockefellers Standard Oil: A deal with the Devil so to speak, trading oil for the full support of the United States to re-establish a Saud/Wahhabi Sunni version of the Ottoman Empire through out the Mediterranean up to the Himalayas.
This put America into the 1300 year-old intra-Islamic war… on the wrong side.”
It’s a three legged table vying for control of a resurrected Ottoman Empire. Naturally, the Saudi’s lead the Sunni version of Islam is the mostactive, exercising its objectives through the Kingdom’s tacit and historic foreign policy agreement with the United States. It is through the Saudi/Wahhabi connection that our CIA supports al Qaeda. Originally built to fight for Empire, it was turned against Soviet hegonomy, then turned against America, and now turned against Syria with America, but always available to create a threat to American interest abroad and at home in order to justify CIA, NSA, DHS, and America Foreign Policy.
The fortunes of war create odd bedfellows, but the fact that America and our CIA is accommodating al Qaeda is a undeniable facet of our current foreign policy. This is exactly what Benghazi was about, gun running to al Qaeda terrorists in Syria.
The resurrection of a secular Islam military rule is what is shaking things up not only Egypt, but Tunisia, Libya, and Turkey; the very states where the Sunni Brotherhood and al Qaeda has worked so hard and long to establish themselves, but it’s all turning to sand beneath their feet. This is why the Syrian rebels finally elected a central leader who is unambiguously a Saudi Arabia man, as they are starting to lose on every front.
In response, al Qaeda is starting to spread out, taking its war into multiple fronts, making the removal of its center of support even more critical.
The three major entities vying to win the 1300-year-old internecine Islamic War between Sunni and Shi’ite sects to re-establish the Ottoman Empire comprise two contestants by design, and a third driven by survival, to wit;
First, is the Sunni interests lead by the two headed hydra of the House of Saud running business end, and the House of Wahhabi in charge of religion. It is the Wahhabi that provides the Brotherhood and al Qaeda with money and leadership, augmented by the CIA and our combined Armed Forces in co-operation with the Saudi’s, in return for their support of our “petro-dollar”, as it is no longer convertible to gold.
Nixon saw to that, as it was part and parcel to “Nixon Shock”, when the dollar was taken off of the phony gold standard. America has been locked in place ever since.
Secondly, is the secular Islamic military state, supported sometimes by America, sometimes by Russia, sometimes by both, and all the time by China. It is this secular military state which is growing rapidly at the very time the House of Saud seems to have over-reached its grip.
After WWII, it was the emergence of the secular military states in Turkey, Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Libya, Tunisia, French Morocco, and even Iran that began to form a coalition reminiscent of the pre-WWI Ottoman Empire. A dream shared by Gaddafi, Hussein, Nasser and many others.
Secular military states now consist of Egypt, Syria, and Jordan with Libya and Tunisia on the fence, and Turkey now in play. Erdogan of Turkey is a front man for the Brotherhood, and recent riots in Turkey were not fiscally based, but in response to the creep of radical Islamic religion into governing laws.
It is significant that Erdogan has in jail 400 of the top officers of Turkey’s military running concurrent with not only the Syrian Civil War, but the war of opportunity being waged by northern Iraqi Kurds, intent upon carving a new nation out of Iraq, Turkey, and Syria, with the blessing of Syria. There is an obvious run on the Brotherhood, and Turkey is in play for the Militarists.
Coming in a reluctant third then in contention for the Ottoman Empire is the reluctant Shi’ite Islamic state. The Shi’ite world is more Persian than Arab, flexible instead of dogmatic with a history of being the most invaded region on Earth. In truth, the Shi’ite’s fight more out of self-defense and survival than for glory and empire. The more destabilizing force in the region are actually the Kurds.
But with Saddam Hussein out of the way, Iran has joined the secular Military Islamic leadership simply because they have nowhere else to go. It’s a logical response to being the most invaded and trashed region in the recorded history of the world.
Once you finally come to realize the actual state of the reforming Islamic Ottoman Empire and its players, it is best to let nature take its course as the Ottoman Empire is re-established by secular militarists. It then becomes academic to passively undermine any remaining tyranny by re-enforcing Liberty to the eager general population of the Middle East.
The same holds true for the neo-con hoodwinked State of Israel, whose neo-con government would fall to the movement of Liberty just as would everyone else’s
Can you imagine the people of the world would response if we should throw off our chains here in America and reclaim the “Great Experiment” of true constitutional Liberty? Liberty would sweep the World over, and America would have fulfilled her original destiny and free the world.
History of the Middle East Should Be the Real Study.
Lines on maps drawn after WWI are far more meaningless today than they were meaningless 93 years ago. The years prior to that, European Imperialism was kicking in the door while the Americans were going in around the back way. But underlying all of that has been the constant motion of Islam fighting itself for 1300 years.
Like most of us, Islam is its own worst enemy.
Everyone should know by now that the war is really between the two sects of Islam. The Sunni, and the Shi’ite. You can call them liberal and conservative and it means nothing. One is more Bedouin Arab, another Persian, other Caucasian, Oriental, or African ranging from the Atlantic, across N. Africa, curving up towards the Black Sea, south to India, and west across steppes and into the mountainous regions of Eurasia.
But at the core, driving Islam has always been about the leadership of Islam. Who has the right to lead Islam? The Shi’ite on one hand say that man must be of the blood of the Prophet. Whereas the Sunni say by the right of might, that it goes to he that can take it and hold it.
What is Justice in Islam?
They both have different views of justice. Sunni Sharia law is dogmatic and rigid. On the other hand, Shi’ite Sharia law is much deeper and fluid, and so it is in the adjudication of law that they are at war. This is what the Ottoman Empire with a judicial system that set both sides aside and functioned sufficiently enough to rule, though at a decreasing rate for over 450 years.
The Judicial System of the Ottoman Empire
It is interesting to note that at the Supreme Court level of the Empires judiciary were Christians eunuch’s appointed by the Sultan, and they decided Shari law. They in turn set up the entire judicial system that could remain objective because they had no horse in the race.
Sharia courts were for available for those cases between Muslim and Muslim while any suit including a Jew or Christian was tried under another code. It may sound archaic, but it worked. The key was that it disarmed either sect of Islam.
True, this would be a challenge in the initial formation of an Islamic Ottoman Empire, but it hasn’t been tried yet and its a damn sight better idea than the one the West is currently working on. Do not discount the therapeutic effect that a Liberty based operating system of government is going to have upon the economies of the Middle East. If anyone doubts the veracity of that statement, show him/her Egypt.
The Capital of United Islamic States
Mecca has often been mentioned as the heart of Islam, and we must give Mecca its due as a focal point of religion if nothing else. And there is Jerusalem, which is nothing and which is everything. It is a portal, maybe the portal, where was the Temple of Solomon and now the Dome of the Rock, and this is a special place. And then there is Istanbul.
Istanbul: The Focal Point
Constantinople was first conquered in 1453 by Sultan Mehmed II, a scant 40 before Columbus re-discovered America. Since then, Istanbul has always represented the seat of government for geographic Islam, but still not their religion. Istanbul is also Islam’s contact point with the West.
If Islam and the West are to ever come to terms, it will most likely be through Istanbul. But for Islam to be able to speak to the West through Istanbul, Islam must be united. Only then can Islam speak with a single voice.
Herein lies a Faustian bargain. In order to bring peace to the Middle East, Islam must be united. But with union comes strength, still it is hard to make a convincing argument that its strength will be a threat to anyone for decades to come if ever. What it will do however, is to raise living standards through not only peace alone, but through intra-Islamic trade. Peace and prosperity are the traditional recipe for stability to which can be added Liberty and thus ensure the peace.
This brings the conundrum of the West down to two questions.
The first is who will rule the nations of Islam, and the other, who will rule Islam?
Now is the time to come to a decision on what America can, and cannot do. With a focal point of geography that we can define (Ottoman Empire), it allows for a viable plan to formulate a political solution to the problem. Besides, the best way to address the spiritual problem of Islam is to address the political problem correctly, and then let its success help decide the spiritual.
Chicken or egg? The first action is to grab a firm hold of re-creating the Ottoman Islamic Empire by restoring its government. It’s been successful before, as the Ottoman Empire operated from 1453 to 1918. You might say that’s no big shakes, but that’s 150 years longer than the United States has been around and up until recently, our government has been a success story unto itself.
We have to respect the accomplishments of the Ottoman Empire, and understand the role the structure of the judiciary played within its longevity. For decades if not centuries if not in all, but all parts of the Empire, the Ottoman courts system was the only acknowledging force of government.
Trying to address the Syrian Civil War as a cause and not a symptom can only lead to the continued policy of failure in the Middle East, because you will have never dealt with the underlying issue. Any answer to Syria must be conducted through the agency of a resurrected Ottoman Empire, located in Istanbul.
The historic definition of revolution is a governmental bankruptcy, and most of the governments in the Middle East are bankrupt. Through trade the West can help the “Empire” reform and develop a political system through which issues like Syria can be successfully addressed, because now, there is no forum in which to politically address any kind of political problem.
Provided that America can shown the wisdom to propose the inevitability of a Pan-Arab/Persian State, or Ottoman Empire, is something America can only accomplish by first showing the internal power of Liberty by America’s Reformation. We must abandon America’s current and covert commitment to the Saud/Wahhabi version of the Sunni Islamic State, that has been paid for by their oil and our blood.
The real question is one of American foreign policy. Will America change its Neo-Con foreign policy of supporting one side against the other in Islam’s 1300-year old war that has become a question of America’s attrition? Because current American foreign policy supports the superiority of the Sunni religious state of Islam, which is manifest in the dualistic Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Its government is run by the House of Saud while the House of Wahhabi operates the religious segment of government from Mecca, which is financed at the behest of the House of Saud from Riyadh. Still both are intertwined and operate as a dualistic tyrannical state. Current America foreign policy pretends to divide the two, but they are simply two faces of the singular head of the same dragon, and so we must recognize this reality.
Separation of Church and State
This is the lesson the Middle East is re-learned from the old Ottoman Empire, that government is a contract between citizens, not between citizens and God. If the Ottoman Empire were revived as a religious state it will only suit the religious war because it will give them something to fight over. This can only play into the hands of the religious caliphates of Islam, causing the 1300-year war of Islam to escalate into the inferno that draws the world neigh.
Conversely, if a new Ottoman Empire were established with a daily operating system based upon original American Liberty, then the people will rule the state. This would place the influence of religious Islam as just another influence to the daily operating model of Liberty in government and remove the access to power from both sides, effectually pulling the tigers tooth from their endless Islamic war.
In action, the structure of the government will dilute the Islam and the means of the two religious powers will have been usurped by a state that is ruled by its people. The two antagonists will remain, but their battlefield will have been transferred to the secular public forum. Just as obvious, by denying the power over the government from all, the sects resume their role between man/woman and God. And the controls of the tyrant is back into the hands of the people.
This is the nature and effect of Liberty. It can not only work in the Middle East, it can work even more seamlessly here in America, but contingent upon the restoration of political Liberty to America. America is where the real battle will be fought that decides WWIII.
On the Sunni Side of the Street…
America is run by the Neo-Cons that run on oil and the profitable, but endless war on terrorism that is driven by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s version of their Ottoman Empire. This in turn is driven by the Kingdom’s religious strategy for the terrorists war of al Qaeda. They are paying for with it in American petro-dollars, which they then transfer by Riyadh to the Wahhabi’s of Mecca to operate and plan to defeat the West, because America is on the Sunni side of the street.
That is the deal for America, made by Standard Oil, with Ibn Saud in the 1930’s, and we’ve both stuck to it. Call it a deal with the Devil and you might be more right than you think. But first this must change, and this can only happen when America changes.
In any event, it is the war of our attrition that is bleeding America white. And until Americans ourselves call a halt to the systemic failure of our own tyrannical state and replace it with Political Liberty, hopefully by our vote, we’re all stuck in a world of hurt.
Never has such an obvious house of cards appeared so obtuse and opaque.
If Russia was a riddle wrapped in an enigma, China is just as so, but in the hands of a forger. Ravaged by a small, powerful, tyrannical ruling elite comprised of the Communist Party and the military, their enslavement of over 1 billion people has been built upon a manipulated currency financed by America the Enabler.
The oligarchs of China have polluted their land and water, and have nearly sucked its citizens dry. An estimated 750,000 members of this oligarchy have fled China with $17 million per diem while the next one plans his getaway. This constant demand of privilege has drained hard upon China, and she is more vulnerable to internal dissention on an incomprehensible scale than anyone can imagine.
Simply by not showing up to contest China’s declared 1994 currency war upon the United States, America has shipped millions of jobs and businesses to China to support these tyrants and the enslavement of their entire nation. It is a war America has been in for 19 years and counting, and America is winning by losing its own ass kicking game.
We are not only America the Enabler, but America the fool.
China is an unsustainable economic model, and immediately so if America forced China to allow its currency to float. Coupled with the promise of Liberty to its citizens, China would be forced to capitulated immediately to succor what good they could at the door of Liberty; that, or face an internal cataclysmic collapse. China has no choice if America plays the hand of Liberty. By the same token, America has no choice but to play the hand. China must confront America in order to survive in its current state.
It is in the best interest of all that this confrontation be met now, while the military outcome can still be decided without doubt. For the best time to fight an inevitable war, is to fight it before it can be fought by the other side.
These two issues of American foreign policy in the Middle East and with China will be the deciding factors that allow for the inevitable sweep of Liberty across the globe. The result is an enlightened mankind, which unrestrained would exceed the grip of the gods. And so we must expect opposition.
America’s conversion to Liberty is a bold move, but is a necessary one. Such a policy strikes at the very heart of our opposition, but gives back more than it takes. And when one considers the alternative is to stand by while the inevitable wave of war threatens to collapse the world around us, to maintain the status quo is to surrender to the promise that will leave the world awash in blood.
It is no exaggeration that man’s ability to move forward is not only contingent upon the restoration of Liberty, but quite likely the survival of civilization and all mankind.
