Killing Bees and Butterfly’s: The case against the USDA, FDA, & MONSANTO
“It won’t be known as the Silent Spring. It will be called the Silent Summer.”
- Terry Ingram: Master beekeeper, teacher, publisher, & environmental activist.
“This was written after an interview with Terry Ingram, publisher of the “Small Beekeepers Journal”, after the Illinois Dept of Agriculture stole some of his hives that contained 15 years of bee research and allegedly destroyed them (I think they sold them to Monsanto so they could patent a Roundup resistant bee: Am I being too paranoid?). Prof. Ingram has been at the forefront accusing Monsanto of spreading their poison and killing bees since 1996, 10 years before corn production demand moved out into South Dakota and Montana where the commercial beekeepers operate, causing the first Mass Media reports on the phenomena of CCD, or Colony Collapse Disorder. Only then was Mass Media forced to start looking into, but lied about its cause and continues to do so today. Think the USDA & FDA are the only government agency that has abandoned their responsible for investigating contamination of America’s food supply because their labs don’t test for pesticides? Game Fish and Wildlife does the same for Eagles and only tests for lead poisoning, but zero investigation for pesticides in Eagles found dead. Again, if you don’t look, you won’t find. Kind of like ending testing for radiation in fish, air, and water on the West Coast after Fukushima.”
Another entry into EANC’s series sharing how all of the symptomatic failures of the tyrannical state of America can only be answered through the restoration of the governmental operating procedure of Liberty. “People think and say what they see and hear, so turn off the TV and read a book.”
Monsanto’s Round-Up herbicide started killing bees and hives in 1996, when its weaker component of “Agent Orange” of Vietnam infamy, was first broadcast over the farms of America. One third of the food you eat is there because a honeybee pollinated it. If there are no bees, we’ll all need to go on a diet. In the last 10 years America has broadcast over 100,000,000 tons of herbicides into our soil and water killing bees and butterfly’s as well as the weeds. If you’ve heard a lot about not enough bees to pollinate the almond crop in California, you’re going to hear a lot more. Remember Bumble Bee’s? Well, take a picture, because your grandchildren won’t.
It is hard to believe the U.S. EPA and USDA would stand back and let this happen, but this is another lesson in allowing the powers of government to end up in the rather private world of public agencies and the dangers of mis-allocating both state and nation legislative powers. Essentially, the U.S EPA and the USDA to a lesser degree, have removed obstructions to new untested centralized food production technologies that are causing infertility and spontaneous abortion in farm animals ranging from 20% to 45% with GM (Genetically Modified) Bt (Bacillus Thruingiensis) seed corn, alfalfa, soybean, and sugar beets; POISONING AND KILLING BEES AND BUTTERFLY’S and a lot of other things, like people.
Rather than as an environmentalist, the political scientist in me looks to strikes at the heart of the problem, that being our tyrannical state. And bees and butterfly’s provides an opportunity to unwind just part of what is going on in the entrench slavery of the tyrannical New World Order that rules America. If you don’t understand how the 2B2Fail banks are robbing you, here is an excellent opportunity to come to grips with the same tyrannical operating model of government that governs the food you eat and the living things around you. Killing bees and butterfly’s isn’t enough. They are trying to systematically poison us in order to make another dollar. Is it a conspiracy? Hell if I know. I only understand the nature of unlimited greed and power.
Where the Obama Administration Stands
By the way, did anyone notice that Presidente’ Barack Obama appointed Michael Taylor, former Vice President of Monsanto, as second in charge of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)? Something about a revolving door that matches the revolving cylinder attached to the gun that Monsanto products are holding against the health of all Americans. Well, so much for gun control, how about some government control. I’ve got an idea, how about institutionalized political operating model based entirely upon Liberty and its guarantee to execute all governmental powers exclusively in the Public Forum.
Killing the soil and water of America: Bees, Butterfly’s, Birds, & other living things are just collateral damage…
What is most alarming is that this massive increase in poisons into what we eat and drink has not only gone for so long and so far, but is on the increase.
Not surprisingly, it is a fine and thoroughly untested idea gone to shit with far reaching consequence. It began with the noble environmental experiment of “no-till” farming. The key was the Monsanto/Dow Chemical pre-poison “Roundup Ready” resistant seed (“Frankenseeds”). No-till means more weeds but less fuel to disk the soil, saving energy, time, and erosion. This Roundup technology would allow the reduction of the herbicide 2,4D, while still controlling the weeds that come with the environmentally conscious “No Till” farming. It was a good idea until the weeds started cross breeding with the resistant corn, bean, and cotton plants and also resisting Roundup. So farmers went back to more 2,4D and even more Roundup. Statistically, herbicide broadcasting dropped from 1996 to 1999 and herbicide demand dropped 2%, but by 2002, herbicide use jumped 212% and has been climbing ever since.
By 2011, Roundup Ready required 24% more herbicide than non-Roundup Ready seeded fields and overall use has skyrocketed by 527 million pounds, up 11%. This dwarfs the use of even worse insecticides that didn’t have to be sprayed, but as we’ll find out, it’s killing the bees and butterfly’s anyway in a rather Faustian bargain.
The other quality they bred into these new super seeds, was a resistance to insect damage by growing a chemical that kills pests like the rootworm that attacks corn. The problem is, is that its pollen also kills and weakens bees, making them susceptible to CCD if it hasn’t killed them already. This has been compounded by an explosion in the production of gasohol since 2006, an at best a break even environmental and economic means of energy production. This has caused fence posts, trees, hedge rows, and grazing land to come under the plow in order to grow a greater corn crop for gasohol, whose 42% share of production has doubled the price of grains in less than 10 years, while expanding the reach of its poisons.
It is at this point in 2006 that the corn crop started being planted in the Dakota’s and Montana where the big bee suppliers to the almond industry operate from. Once they started experiencing die-offs, CCD (Colony Collapse Disorder) started to finally become news.
Despite this, killing bees and butterfly’s continues and accelerating in the blind pursuit of temporary profits, creating a whole new industry of fungicides and new treatments promoted by ample advertising to end the problem of CCD. But these new chemicals and treatments will do nothing, because this is not the cause of CCD.
The Cause of CCD
Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) comes under two broad categories.
The first is Foul Brood. Foul Brood gets its name from the smell of decaying bees and is caused by herbicide/pesticide broadcast and breaking open and moving beehives, placing them under stress. Yes Virginia, bees do succumb to bacteria and viruses when hives are moved, frames opened or broken, and the invading bacteria or virus released from the containment the bees build around these natural threats to a hive. Foul Brood is also aggravated by exposing bees to the chemical cocktails and Frankenseed pollens, that weaken a hive, making it susceptible to CCD. This is a large part of the problem with large corporate beekeepers that travel with their hives around America. Their bees are not only stressed by handling, but by the one-two punch of chemicals and Bt seed.
Secondly, is Chill Brood. Chill brood is caused by opening up hives in winter weather, breaking the heat envelop the bees have created against harsher climate. However, hives destroyed by Chill Brood do not smell bad, leaving no odor. This is what killed some of the bees in some of Professor Ingram’s hives that the Illinois Dept of Ag used as proof of Foul Brood in Professor Ingram’s hives. Of course, the CCD in Ingram’s hives was during the winter, and the hives are the very ones that agent Kivviko and her gang of Ill. Dept of Ag opened when they trespassed on Ingram’s farm when he wasn’t home, and in the dead of winter.
No search warrant, no trial, just 15 years of bee research on CCD destroyed by Ill. Dept of Ag employees that had no idea what they were doing. Like I said, only in Amerika,… or China, or the Soviet Union.
But not in Europe. In Europe, GM corn is banned, so are neonicitoids, and the small beekeepers and bees of Europe are better off, but still suffering under Roundup. Who knows, when North American hives are wiped out, maybe Europe will sell us some bees.
If you thought Roundup was bad, neonicitoids in their initial application to American farms killed 600 hives of bees (approx 37,000,000 bees) in a single application on a farm growing corn. These might be some farmers private field, but it is our America, our worms, or bees, our butterfly’s, our birds, and our water.
You might start to appreciate the issue more with the latest line-up of second generation Frankenseeds. We now face the specter of solid preliminary evidence that indicate that not only do infertility rates skyrocket in farm animals that chow down on the new Monsanto/Dow Frankenseeds, but that 20% to 45% of farm animals suffer from spontaneous abortion. They then butcher that animal and put it in the quick burger you got at fast foods and the meat display case at your favorite grocer. Yum, yum. (report from Dr. Don Huber, prof emeritus, Purdue University)
How did I get here, this is not my beautiful car, and this is not my beautiful wife?
Where was the U.S. EPA, how did this slip through their labyrinth of environmental regulation, and how does the USDA come into play? Inquiring minds want to know.
The U.S. EPA not only let it all happen, it seems to have waived the normal environmental studies generally applied for introduction of strange and new chemicals and plant life for brief synopsis, by remaining silent while the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) carried the legislative football. This is the same U.S. EPA sworn to protect the environment but sleeps, while the BIO dominated legislation detailed below suspends the constitutionally mandated appeals process through the state and federal courts. Sleeping alongside the U.S. EPA are the USDA, and FDA, and don’t think the pharmaceutical industry isn’t taking notes.
Congress stays bought
Inserted into the 2013 Ag Appropriations bill is Section 733, “The Farmers Assurance Provision”, and Sections 1011, 10013, and 10014, which removes any oversight by the USDA over any Genetically Engineered seed. In addition to the USDA and the nations court system, these quoted Sections of the 2013 Ag Appropriations House Bill would also deprive the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and Fish & Wildlife AND the EPA from commenting on whatever new Frankenseeds Monsanto, Dow, or Dupont et al can conjure.
This in the face of countless studies that point to the devastating effect that the chemicals and Frankenseeds being patented and sold are not only killing bees and butterfly’s, but also humans. And while the new neonicotinoids that our U.S. EPA gave a recent O.K., that EANC reported on previously, they have been banned in Europe, the best support against these poisons coming from the University of Exeter. There, Dr. James Cresswell, while admitting that neonicotinoids kill bees, urges more research so that the affect that these pesticides have on honeybees can be properly determined. I’m not sure what further effect neonicotinoids have on bees after killing them, but having established the fact, I’m in a bit of a quandary over needing more complete research needed before halting these neonicotinoids being let loose upon the worlds population? If on one hand they admit there is a problem, but down play it, but then demand a thorough study be made is putting the damaging cart leagues in front of the horse. Einstein defined insane as continually repeating the same mistake, causing one to come to the natural conclusion that the people running the USEPA, USDA, and FDA are all insane… or bought!
Probably the most damning point is one that was addressed in Part II of the Liberty Trilogy, reporting that two U.S. Senators had petitioned the U.S. EPA to hold off on giving the O.K. to the continued use of neonicotinoids,. I would point out that where else but in hell does a U.S. Senator need to petition an agency whose powers are those of the Congress and States to being with? http://electanewcongress.com/on-liberty-in-restraint-of-government-and-spending/
Has America gone mad or just insane, or is it just really the manifestation of the systematic failure of our tyrannical state? It’s a rhetorical question and this is standard operating procedure in at tyrannical state where the levers of government are for sale to the highest bidder. Kind of like pre-revolutionary 1789 France.
This isn’t a new sweetener, it’s a crippler and it’s in Roundup. The medical journal Neurotoxicology and Teratology draws a direct link between Glypshosate and cell destruction. At GreenMedinfo.com, they draw a direct link between these chemicals and neurodegenative disorders like Parkinson’s. One case documented a woman who worked for 3 years in a chemical factory exposed to Glypshosate. Despite her being protected by gloves and facemask, her body became rigid, followed by tremors as her arms and legs became ambulatory, compounded by severe dizziness, weakness, and vision problems. Still, neither the EPA nor FDA take note, turning a blind eye as red flags are popping up all over the place, especially on our ecosystems ground floor, the world of insects and bee keeping.
According to Beeologics, 45% of beekeeping operations in America have been effected by CCD. In 2006/07 alone, CCD wiped out more than 2.4 million beehives, and no one is counting the birds, butterfly’s and other living things. Beeologics then went on to report that it was considered that “large-scale monoculture has resulted in a lack of natural weeds, and all too often pesticide-laden corn forage”.
In 2012, Monsanto purchased Beeologics to conduct its own research into the killing effect of their agricultural products. I wonder how the results of any new studies will turn out? I guess we’d have to ask Monsanto.
In fact, Monsanto is well aware of what their killing chemicals and Frankenseeds are doing the nations honey bee populations, because they hired one of the nations pre-eminent bee biologist, Jerry Hays from the American Beekeepers Journal. It’s a lesson they learned from 2B2Fail Banks, if you can’t gag them, buy them. In fact, Monsanto has now purchased a beekeeping farm. It is a pretty good guess that Monsanto will soon try to patent and new Roundup resistant queen bee and then charge the world to buy their bees from Monsanto too, then dispatching bee police to investigate bee hives around the world to see if any of their patented bee traits show up in private hives. Then they can take those beekeepers to court for stealing their patented bee technology. Go ahead, laugh, but that day is coming, and it wouldn’t surprise me in the least that such bees will have some of the chemical resistance that Professor Terry Ingram found was being developed in his 15 year bee research study that was stolen from him by the Illinois Dept of Agriculture (only in Amerika)… and destroyed?
This is exactly what they have done with their Frankenseeds and now Dupont is following in these same steps as Monsanto, hiring seed police and swarms of lawyers to harass farmers across the North American Continent. Whose next?
How the USDA fits into the Monsanto Ag Machine Killing Bees and Butterfly’s
I thought you’d never ask? A lot of the information that is used in this report comes from Professor Terrance Ingram’s Small Beekeeper’s Journal, that isn’t on the web, which is something we at EANC would like to help the Professor correct. Terry created the Small Beekeeper’s Journal as an alternative to the much larger American Beekeeper’s Journal after the articles he was submitting were being carved into nothing resembling the editorials Professor Ingram was submitting that they had been printing. Let me make this clear, the American Beekeeper’s Journal was heavily censoring Terry’s articles because they were diametrically opposed to the advertisers of chemicals and devotes of Monsanto that were advertising in the American Beekeepers Journal. In other words, the America Beekeeper’s Journal sold out just like the U.S. EPA, USDA, FDA, Congress, et al. Just line’em up and buy them away.
How does the USDA fit into the lie of omission? Professor Terrance Ingram, one of America’s most notable activist and beekeeper for over 50 years, is also one of the earliest and most vocal opponents of the ravages of Monsanto and their Roundup killing chemicals and Frankenseeds. He made the honest mistake of handing a sample of some honey comb that his bees would not touch, not even walk on, to one Susan Kivikko, of the Illinois Dept of Ag (IDoA), and asked her to have it tested for pesticides and herbicides. Ms Kivikko took the sample and sent it to the USDA national laboratory in Maryland for testing, but instead of testing for chemicals, they only test for foul brood bacteria and viruses. The USDA national lab in Maryland doesn’t test for pesticides in researching CCD, because Monsanto’s chemicals have already been determined not to be the cause of CCD. You really should take a look at how our government silences critics. http://www.naturalnews.com/035920_beekeeper_Illinois_raid.html
You heard me; they don’t test for one of the primary acknowledged culprits and cause of Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) that is wiping out all the bees and butterfly’s in the world. They only test for foul brood disease, which, in a beehive is as common as bacteria on your kitchen counter. The bacteria on your kitchen counter generally won’t kill you, unless of course its just the right kind and your bodies immune system has been destroyed, like after you’ve been poisoned… by Monsanto, Dupont, and the U.S. EPA with the endorsement of the USDA, just like they’ve done to the nations bees and butterfly’s.
The word of warning…WE’RE NEXT!
Health Care Providers Get Involved
It’s absolute insanity under the guise of protecting the nations food supplies from contamination and institutionalize poison. But don’t take my word for it; take Kaiser Permanents, the nations largest managed healthcare provider that points to the dangers of consuming Genetically Modified (GMO) Frankenseed foods. Kaiser, in their recent newsletter, makes it a point to raise the awareness in their members to buy the more expensive organic foods, specifically referring to long-term studies in rats showing GMO’s direct linkage to tumors and organ damage. These studies show that 50% of male rats, and 70% of female rats died prematurely when they consumed GMO’s. Kaiser is a managed healthcare provider… is any of this sinking in yet?
If not, maybe you’ll get tumors, or watch them grow on your kids or grandchildren, provided of course that your children can have them at all having been potentially sterilized by the Monsanto food groups. It can be kind of like a life experiment, such as the one Dr. Carsten Bruhl of the University of Kblenz-Landau, Germany, performed with some of the new insecticides(quote),
“It is the simplest effect you can think of: you spray the amphibian with the pesticide and it is dead. That should translate into a dramatic effect on populations.”
THE BIG PICTURE
We have a government that is structured to allow large corporations like Monsanto to employ teams of lobbyists, paying Presidents, Senators, and Congressman to peel off the constitutional powers of Congress to agencies and private corporations, which allows them to craft laws and regulations so that they can make mo’ money and the nation be damned.
In Amerika’s case, it is an unholy thirst for gasohol made from corn that demands 42% of the annual crop, causing the market to skyrocket to make a fuel that costs a dollar for every dollar of value created in a no win tail chasing race to destroy the fertility of not only our fields, but poisoning America’s livestock, lock stock and barrel, grinding their poisons into the American people.
Ask yourself how much corn syrup is being processed and put in soft drinks and cereal that kids eat each and every day to account and offset the artificially higher price of sugar in the United States. It only happens because the higher price of sugar in America is enforced by special access to the powers of Congress, usurped to the monopoly granted to giant multi-national corporations like Chiquita Brands. It’s no secret that corn fructose is playing a very large part in making America obese, driving up medical costs while pounding down the quality of life for many Americans. American’s aren’t people, we’re not even sheople, we’re lab rats and treated no better, and all too often, much worse.
And just as America’s economic future is being squandered by the government in concert with the 2B2Fail banks, so is the future of America’s physical health being bartered away by the same instruments in government.
The answer for one is the same for the other, and that is to remove the access to power from these ambitious, cunning, and unprincipled men by recalling and restoring all powers of Congress, back exclusively to the Congress: Placing them all wholly and exclusively into the Public Forum, wherein Transparency is restored, providing for true Consent of the Governed. Only thus do the people rule over their government, and only this defines Liberty.
Sometimes I feel like a broken record repeating this simple mantra of the return of Liberty as the operating model of our governance as America’s only hope. But then this is still the only answer to the symptoms and the futility of living in the tyrannical state of Amerika.
Serfs Up America!
